I don't have the traditional scissor sharpening stuff. Is there anything around the house I might be able to use… like steel wool, or something like that? Thanks!
Yes actually cutting steel wool will sharpen your scissors.Just keep cutting up a piece of steel wool into a bunch of small slivers. Put those slivers together and cut them again the other direction.

My grandma did a lot of sewing and she would cut sand paper in very short cuts over and over. This really does work. I tried it on a pair that had been used on cardboard and I was going to throw them out but I did the sand paper method and now they are like new.

buy a knife sharpener with those tungsten carbide bits on them, they work great and some are considered interchangeable with scissors, but all are.

can be found at almost any grocery store, department store or on the internet, just need to ask for hand held knife sharpeners.
