I've noticed that a lot of people that I have talked to at various events that plan on going to college for fashion design don't know how to sew. Is this really as common as I think it is? (I just recently applied to various fashion colleges, but I've been sewing for about 13 years) Yup, it's common. My sewing mentor taught at a well known fashion school for a number of years; few students escaped her basic sewing class.
Jun Takahashi is a founder and head designer of cult Japanese label 'Undercover'. Born in Kiryu, Gunma prefecture, Japan in September 1969, Takahashi studied Fashion Design at the Bunka Academy of Fashion. During his study period, he founded the 'Undercover' brand with his friend and classmate, Nigo (who now heads the inconic Japanese streetwear label 'A Bathing Ape').
I am 20 years old and I have no idea what I want to do as a career. I change my mind constantly. I went to college for Fashion design, switched my major to Elementary education and then dropped out of college because I didnt wanna do that either. I work at a photograpy studio now. I want to go back to school, but i don't know what to do? All I know is that someday I want to own my own business...not sure in what though.
