Hair serum is a hairstyling product that is used to temporarily add volume, body and shine to thin or flat hair. Applying hair serum is safe and an efficient way to keep your hair healthy.

Regular application of hair serum helps to bring back the luster and shine in hair. Our hair is subjected to extreme conditions such as pollution, exposure to the sun, dirt, etc. and these factors damage hair. In order to keep hair in a good condition, it is necessary to take proper care.

Using shampoo and conditioner will only add volume and keep hair clean. However, using hair serum has more benefits to hair than using regular shampoos. Anti Hair Loss Serum helps extend the growth phase of hair for a thicker looking, healthy head of hair. This makes hair look thicker, black and shiny.

Another benefit of using hair serum is that it protects hair from getting overheated due to the use of heated styling tools like curling irons, blow dryers, etc. It also solves the problem of tangle and prevents it from getting frizzy. Hair serum also protects hair from being dry, coarse and dull.

Application of hair serum

Applying hair serum is easy and similar to the way we apply our regular hairstyling products. However, there is a technique to apply it and you must follow proper steps to get optimum results after applying it.

Photographing hair is very important for stylists. It allows to show the true colors of hair in photographs. It is also essential because photography has enormous power and can take you far as a hairstylist.

Prominent Toronto beauty and fashion photographer Babak, who has worked with many Contessa Award entrants was featured on ScissorBoy’s online cosmetology program. He along with Mickey Svircevic explained the importance of photographing your work.

Mickey and Babak took us behind the scenes at a photo shoot and gave us some pointers on how to photograph your work! Both were of the opinion that by photographing your work, you can capture time and styles which may be used as a reference.

One of the most important things to keep in mind when having a photo shoot is that you will most likely not know what the photo shoot will entail. Mickey says you must “go with the flow” and that it all starts with the photographer.

Babak mentions that the right photographer will get your whole look and bring it all together for you. As a hairstylist, make sure that you explain your objectives to your photographer. If the photographer does not understand your needs and objectives, he may not be able to capture the important thing(s) that you wish to depict through your work.

All the pieces of the puzzle need to come together, like styles, colors and makeup. But if you put your mind to it, you can pull anything off and get an amazing photo shoot showcasing your look.  One important tip that Babak shared on the Cutting Edge Hair Show was to always go with the flow of hair while doing a photo shoot. Going against it would never work.

Photography is an art and not science and hence perceptions (about hair) differ from one individual to another. However, every stylist must photograph his/her work to allow their creativity to reflect via photographs.

High quality Hairdressing scissors and top hairstylists are always in demand! Some people are so conscious of their looks, especially their hair, that they just can’t stop themselves from visiting a salon. I have seen people visit a hairstylist every two weeks. It’s difficult to say what attracts them to a hair salon – whether it is the sound of hairdressing scissors or its relaxing atmosphere?

One of the oldest myths surrounding hair is – ‘Cutting your hair will make it grow faster.’ Many people believe in this myth but I feel this is totally untrue. Hence I have decided to settle this once and for all!

The actual truth is – Your hair will not physically grow any faster, thicker or stronger if you cut it more frequently. No matter what type of hairdressing scissors you use, excessive cutting will never make it grow faster. Basically, when you cut hair, your locks look healthier since cutting hair eliminates split and gnarled ends. Every time you cut hair, you will start growing again from the ends and what you do to the ends simply doesn’t affect the roots!

To put this more simply, hair grows from the roots and hairstylists cut hair from the ends. They are two different ends that are serving two different purposes; therefore acting on one will never have any effect on the other one.

On average, hair grows at a rate of about a half-inch per month, so experts recommend regular cuts about every four to six weeks. That is the ideal time to groom your style. However, you must remember to use good quality hairdressing scissors. If you see your stylist using cheap hair shears, it’s your duty to point it out and make them use good quality tools.

I hope that by now you find these myths to be false. Do not fall prey to such stupid myths if you really care for your beautiful hair. Instead, you are better off watching the Cutting Edge Hair Show, and educating yourself on How to take proper care of your hair. This online cosmetology program provides answers to all your hair care needs and also busts such false myths.
